Glastonbury 2009 had a disastrous start, as a motorway crash turned a 3 hour journey into a mammoth 14 hour trip and had to pitch our tent in the dark on Wednesday night. I felt robbed of my Glastonbury Wednesday chill out but soon made up for any lost time.
Word quickly spread across site about the death of Michael Jackson, and within a few hours people were wearing tribute t-shirts and acts were busy doing tribute cover versions of their fave tunes. However an uber cool Nick Cave strolled on stage and announces, “We’re gonna dedicate this set to the late, great … Farah Fawcett.” After what is surely the greatest Michael Jackson snub of the weekend.
When Nick Cave left the stage I made my biggest Glastonbury mistake ever! I headed to the other stage to finish Glastonbury dancing to the Prodigy rather than watch Blur. The Prodigy were incredibly mediocre and Blur put on what many have said there greatest ever performance. Arrrgggggh!
